Time Magazine every year releases a list of 25 inventions which they consider being at the pinnacle of human ingenuity, at least when it comes to consumer tech. This list is made from an exhaustive curation of more than a hundred inventions from around the world.
‘selfie stick’ was also listed in this list as one of the top inventions of the year (2014) and now for this year, the Apple iPhone X has made the list.
Time Magazine considers the Apple iPhone X worthy of making the list this year because:
The iphoneX has a screen that stretches from edge-to-edge, a processor optimised for augmented reality(AI) and a camera smart enough to allow users to unlock the phone with their face.” – All this makes the iphoneX the world’s most sophisticated smartphone.
However, Samsung and LG has some of the above features before apple, but the iPhone X is the first smartphone to combine a number of popular features, along with bringing FaceID, the first of its kind facial unlock system.
Also as the iPhone X do not have home button which allows user to navigate through lot of new gestures and this decision to ditch home button worked in their favour, according to Time Magazine
While we can endlessly debate whether the Apple iPhone X deserves to be on this list or not, the fact remains that it is.
