Set in and around the vicinity of California, Book Club is a heartfelt comedy about four lifelong friends in their 60s who read 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club and have their lives changed forever. For these successful and intelligent women, this is not the type of book that they typically read, but as they soon find out, inspiration can come in the most unlikely of places. Breaking the monotony of their lives and away from those mundane routines, they amusingly explores an out of the box life style, reliving and re-cherishing their mid 20’s in their early 60’s and giving meaning and fun to their present lifestyle.
DIANE is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage. VIVIAN enjoys her men with no strings attached. SHARON is still working through decades-old divorce. CAROL’s marriage is in a slump after 35 years. The lives of these four lifelong friends are turned upside down after reading the infamous 50 Shades of Grey catapults them into a series of outrageous life choices. From discovering new romance to rekindling old flames, they’re each inspired by the scandalous text to hilarious ends.
Finally a movie based on modern books, making the audience connected to feel the need of fun and frolic throughout their lives and welcoming inspiration and liveliness from the unlikely mechanisms. There is no point in not living the life up to its fullest, just giving weight to the age factor or burden of society.
This heartfelt comedy is all set to hit the theatres on March 18, 2018.
