Captain Marvel is less than a year away, and we have got a small glimpse of the character at the very end of Avengers Infinity War (sort of). The post-credits scene of Avengers Infinity War revealed the symbol of Captain Marvel when Nick Fury sent her message before dying. The emblem confirmed that we would be seeing her in the red, blue and gold outfit designed by artist Jamie Mckelvie. However, there has been some discrepancy between the gear seen on the sets of Captain Marvel. Going by those images, we have witnessed actress Brie Larson dawning the green and white costume.
As per the current details regarding the Captain Marvel movie we know that it will be set in the 90s and will be the origin story of the character. Alongside Brie Larson, the cast of the film also includes Jude Law who will portray the role of Mar-Vell, a Kree soldier who plays the role of mentor as well as the love interest of Carol Danvers. The presence of Mar-Vell, Kree soldier, provides the explanation regarding the green outfit. Because being a Kree soldier his military outfit was green and white with a green planet on the chest. There is the right amount of similarity between the costume worn by Bree Larson during the shoot and this one.
Captain Marvel is wearing the same outfit as wore by Mar-Vell because he was Captain Marvel before passing the mantle to Carol Danvers. Moreover going by the Marvel comics, Carol Danvers will not be the only superhero in the movie as Mar-Vell portrayed by Jude Law will also possess powers. And because of the unfortunate incident, both of them combine, and Carol Danvers absorbs all the abilities of Mar-Vell leading to her transformation into Captain Marvel. At this moment we can expect the Bree Larson to dawn new outfit of red, blue and gold colour.
Adding to this, however, the green and white costume won’t appear in Avengers 4. The red, blue and gold costume worn by her in Captain Marvel itself will become the final costume for her future movies with some nitpicks done before each film. But overall, no matter whichever suit she wears it will be interesting to see her fight with Thanos and how she will bring things back to normal. Captain Marvel comes out on March 8th, 2019 followed by the highly anticipated sequel to Avengers Infinity War, yet untitled Avengers 4 on May 3, 2019.
