Christopher Robin, a forthcoming adventure film by Disney; the studio that bought you, Beauty and The Beast. Disney offered a first look of its new Winnie the Pooh movie , “ Christopher Robin”. The film stars Hayley Atwell as Christopher’s wife Evelyn, Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline, and Mark Gatiss as Christopher’s boss Keith Winslow and features the voices of Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh; Chris O’Dowd as Tigger; Brad Garrett as Eeyore; Toby Jones as Owl; Nick Mohammed as Piglet; Peter Capaldi as Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
Disney has released the first teaser poster and trailer for the upcoming adventure film. While not a remake by itself, this movie is very much in line with Disney’s many other smash hit updates like The Jungle Book, and Cinderella as it brings a new emphasis of the Winnie the Pooh story to the big screen.
Finding Neverland and Quantum of Solace filmmaker Marc Forster directs this new tale, which stars Ewan McGregor as the grown up emphasis of the titular (so called) character who has “lost his way.” Now it’s up to his childhood friends to help him remember his past, loving self as Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and others venture into our world.
If that logline sounds spookily similar to Hook, it’s because it kind of is. We got much better idea of what is there in the film from the teaser trailer, but this poster is a pretty adorable appetizer.
Below is the beautiful teaser trailer portraying a conversation between Christopher and his boss, where the latter asks Christopher to be there in an urgent meeting scheduled this weekend, onto which Robin replies that he has promised his wife and kids to them out. But the boss seems to be rude as he makes him emotional by saying that he will deduct 20% from his salary if he (Robin) doesn’t turns up for the meeting and in addition to it he also says that he was under the impression that Robin can do anything for the company, again making him sounding low rather emotional blackmail. The conversation goes a bit loud and Robin is seen questioning his boss for making fake promise to the people for giving them a good job, but his efforts seem in vain.
In the second phase of the trailer, we see Robin getting broken and upset as he had to send his family alone to enjoy and especially his kid being annoyed of his absence. Worried, when he goes to a park and sits murmuring a bit loud, ‘What to do?’ repeatedly, suddenly there comes a familiar voice from behind, “Indeed”. Astonished to hear the voice, he turns and back and gets amazed to see Pooh out there. Robin shares his heart with him and tells him, “I am cracked!” Pooh reverts, helping him gain his confidence and strength back, ‘I can’t see any crack on your face, they must be the cracks of your wrinkles may be!’ a soothing reply.
In the heartwarming “Christopher Robin,” the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.
Christopher Robin awaits all of us with lots of adventure and the beauty of conducts, opens in theaters on August 3rd.
