Applause Entertainment has released a trailer for their upcoming web series Criminal Justice. The company has partnered up with Hotstar to release the series on April 5, 2019, under Hotstar Specials banner.

The web series is based on 2008-09 BBC series of the same name but with a completely Indian cast. The show stars some popular names from the digital entertainment industry including Vikrant Massey (Mirzapur), Pankaj Tripathi (Mirzapur), Anupriya Goenka (Padmaavat), Gaurav Dwivedi (Inkaar), Mita Vashisht (Rahasya), and Rucha Inamdar (Bhikari).
The series has been directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Furia, while the show has been scripted by Shridhar Raghavan.
The Criminal Justice web series covers the story of a cab driver Aditya who makes out with a drunk passenger, but after waking up, he finds her dead. The police book him for her of rape and murder. To help him out, a lawyer (Pankaj Tripathi) steps in when he sees that the cab driver is from a good family and holds no record of any criminal activity in the past.
We have already seen splendid performances from Vikrant Massey and Pankaj Tripathi in many digital web series, and now again it will be interesting to see how they will pull off this spectacular script whose HBO remake has already won many international awards.
