David Katz Jacksonville mass shooting suspect at Madden Esports Event

The mass shooting has been reported at the Madden Esports Event in Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department has determined the suspect related to this shooting.

According to the statement of Mike Williams, the Sheriff of Jacksonville, there are a total of 14 casualties, out of which 3 players have been killed including the shooter himself.

The person behind this mass shooting is a 24-year-old player named David Katz who also has taken participation in the game.

William has mentioned that Katz used Hand Gun and further FBI is conducting more investigation regarding the weapons used in this mass shooting.

Katz took part in the Madden Tournament but lost at an early stage of the tournament. The event was a regional tournament for Madden 19 Classic major.

David Katz is now being nabbed by the police officials at the site of the shooting and was a resident of Baltimore, Maryland.

This mass shooting has been condemned by all the major Esports organization and addition to that EA Sports has responded to shooting at Madden Tournament.

EA has issued a statement,

# We are aware of an incident at a sanctioned Madden Championship Series competition in Jacksonville. We are working with authorities to gather facts at the stage

# This is a horrible situation, and our deepest sympathies go out to all involved

 

This tragedy at the Madden Championship Series competition has raised a serious security concern and esports fraternities including Seth Abner, Dark NAKAT demanding better security and compulsory security checks.
