DC is finally taking appropriate steps and is showing a lot of hope for the better future. last year sometime Warner Brs. revealed that DC will be starting its streaming service by the name of DC universe. This announcement not only made fans go crazy but also seemed appropriate because of vast DC library that can be put to use to lure the audience. Today, DC Universe’s streaming service provided fans with some big news. Along with an official synopsis and release window, DC Universe streaming service gave fans the first look at Brendon Thwaites as Robin in the Titans series.
Robin will be the focal point of Titans, and the official images have indicated such as well by officially releasing more Robin than any other character on the show.
“DC Universe is so much more than a streaming service. It’s a welcoming place for everyone to immerse themselves in their level of DC fandom, with the epic characters, stories, and experiences they have come to expect from DC,” said Jim Lee, chief creative officer and publisher, DC Entertainment. “We are investing in and creating original, high-quality shows including the new Titans series, and curating the most beloved nostalgic content, while at the same time elevating the comic reading experience to new heights. Nothing this robust has ever been offered to fans before.”
Titans follow the Teen Titans franchise with young heroes from across the DC Universe come together to form a team. The official synopsis for the Titans is – Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.
As per the early details and synopsis, it looks like that the series will be dark and is meant for the adult audiences which is in contrast with the Young Justice comics. Talking about the first look of Robin, it has made fans ask a question that whether the Titan series will take place in DCEU or some parallel universe. The dark colour scheme and the costume design points towards the DCEU, but it will be interesting to check out how creators have established the series. Apart from Dick and Rachel, other characters which are confirmed or rumoured to appear are Hawk and Dove, Jason Todd/Red Hood, Donna Troy, and the Doom Patrol, who comprise of Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane.
Doom Patrol and The Swamp Thing are the other series that are lined next to the Titans series, and it is expected that both of them will come out in 2019, as well as the animated series Young Justice: Outsiders and Harley Quinn. Apart from these details a lot more is expected to be revealed during the upcoming San Diego Comic Con 2018.
