According to this latest list, the Android 8.0/8.1 system currently accounts for 12%, and their system code is “Oreo”, but currently Android 8.0/8.1 still lags behind Android 6.0/5.0, and most the popular system is still Android 7.0/7.1, accounting for 30.8%.

Of course, as more and more mobile phones push Android 8.0/8.1 system, the proportion of “Oreo” is also climbing. Compared with May, the share of Android 8.0/8.1 system has increased by 6.4 percentage points, while 7.0 /7.1 fell by 0.3 percentage points.

However, when it comes to comparing with the Apple’s iOS, Android stands nowhere as the latest iOS 12 is already running on over 80 percent of the devices and it was released months after the Android oreo. All this is due to the manufacturers not rolling out timely updates to their devices. Initiatives like Android Go and Android One might help to fill the gap, but the day when we would compare the Android distribution with iOS is still very far.

Also, Google Alphabet released its second-quarter earnings report for the 2018 fiscal year ending June 30. According to the latest earnings report, Google’s total revenue for the second quarter was $32.657 billion, up 26% from $26.01 billion in the same period last year. The impact of excluding exchange rate changes was a year-on-year increase of 23%.
