India’s Biggest and Flagship esports tournament ESL India Premiership is set to make its return the third time this year. After two successful edition, it will attract more gamers across from the country. With its high price money and more competitive format, it is contributing towards the shaping of the competitive gaming environment in India.

This year it is ready to set another new record. Last year, the prize pool of the tournament was 60 Lacs INR and this year it is whopping 1 Crore INR($157,000*).


The games in the tournament will remain as of last year. Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Clash Royale.

Tournament Format:

Starter Cup:

All the participating contestants will register themselves on the ESL official website for the starter cup. In the starter cup, there will single-elimination format where 128 individuals / teams will allow in each starter. Top two teams proceed to the challenger cup. Total 8 teams proceed to the challenger cup.There is always three starter cup so you have three chances to try your best to get in the challenger cup.

Challenger Cup

After the starter cup, then the Challenger cup comes. It will introduce a double-elimination format. All 8 teams will fight to ensure their stop in the league through three phases in every season i.e Summer, Fall, and Winter. After the end of every season, top 4 teams will earn entry to the Master League.

Master League

This is the highly competitive league. There will 12 teams instead of 8 teams this time and the league will run for more time than other two with 66 matches. It will also independent of the other two league and will stream all their matches on their Facebook page and YouTube Channel. After the relegation process at the end, bottom four team will replace by four teams from the Challenger Cup.


In 2017 edition of ESL India Premiership over 15000 gamer and 2000 teams competed. 700 hrs of the content was live streamed in 250 days on the Facebook and YouTube. CS: GO was broadcasted on DSPORT( sports channel by Discovery Communications).

ESL India Premiership 2017 was a huge success for competitive gaming in India and now ESL India Premiership 2018 promises a bigger and best ever experience which will help the Indian esports to emerge more and provide gamers with a year-long tournament. The Premiership will take Indian esports to whole new level with pool prize of 1 Crore INR  and help the new gaming talent to showcase their abilities.
