Recently, Instagram crossed the 1 Billion active users across the world, but, Facebook did it earlier in the third quarter of 2012. The number of active Facebook users had surpassed one billion, making it the first social network ever to do so. Talking about the current scenario, as of the first quarter of 2018, Facebook had 2.19 billion monthly active users. Facebook not only have users, it has addictive users, and most of the users are teenagers, who instead of playing football, studying subjects, discovering world, love to spend their time on social media scrolling down for memes and videos and eventually wasting the time and most of the time they are not aware of the time they have wasted on this app . It’s good to be in touch with the world news and family and friends, but according to some reports, the addiction has increased alarmingly. Facebook is finally about to take steps to change it a bit. Facebook is launching a new tool to show the users the time they spent on Facebook.
Facebook new feature: Your Time on Facebook
Facebook is now jumping on the bandwagon: the social network is crafting a time-management feature it’s calling “Your Time on Facebook.” The new option, as told earlier, let the users know the total time spent on Facebook. And maybe this will be helpful for the users to realize the time wasted by scrolling up and down. But this tool or feature will be only helpful if the user is aware of the consequences.
Jane Manchun Wong the app investigator spotted the new “Your Time on Facebook” feature in a recent release of the Facebook app. The new feature is in development and still unfinished, but the traces are suggesting the new feature will be live soon.
Talking specifically about the new Your Time on Facebook feature, it will show users a list of days with how much time the user spent in the app on each. Not only this, with the new feature users can set up the daily limits to use the application and a push notification will be sent immediately if user crosses the defined limits.

A Facebook spokesperson also confirmed the development of the feature to TechCrunch. He said, “We’re always working on new ways to help make sure people’s time on Facebook is time well spent.” According to Jane, this new feature for tracking the activity may be available for the Facebook-owned Instagram, but no information for Whatsapp yet.
