The Wizarding World is coming back to life on the screen with J.K Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald a sequel to 2016 released action-fantasy drama. The trailer for Warner Bros. much-anticipated fantasy drama revealed another power-packed movie starring Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Ezra Miller and Zoe Kravitz.
What Fantastic Beasts is all about?
The story of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set in years before the arrival of Harry Potter at the school of magic when Dumbledore is young and is faced with the villain Grindelwald. The movie is the direct sequel to 2016 released Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in which we were introduced the character of Newt Scamander portrayed by Eddie Redmayne. Newt arrives in the city of New York with a leather bag full of mystical creatures who exist among us. In already uncertain times all courtesy of the dark lord, Grindelwald, Newt loses his leather bag, and few of the beasts are set free. By the end of the movie, MACUSA is able to capture the Grindelwald with the help of Newt and with he gets all his precious creatures back. The film was a huge hit and was able to garner good response from the die-hard Harry Potter fans.
What trailer for the Sequel has in store for all Harry Potter fans?
The trailer takes you on the wild journey where you get the glimpse of beasts, young Dumbledore, villainous Grindelwald and charming Newt who won the hearts in the first outing. The story picks up right from where the first part ended with the antagonist in chains. But making good on his threat Grindelwald escaped the custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his real agenda; to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over non-magical beings. So, to stop Grindelwald from executing his evil plan, Albus Dumbledore asks his former student Newt Scamander for help, and he agrees to it without knowing the dangers that lie ahead.
As Newt again unites with his team which includes Jacob, Queenie, and Tina as they all head for the Paris. Along with them, he is accompanied by the number of beasts and will leave you in complete awe of their magnificence. Jude Law as young Dumbledore looks convincing and it will be interesting to see how well creators have developed it. The story will also see the return of Credence Barebone played by Ezra Miller whose fate was left undecided at the end of the first film. We will have to wait to see what new angle does this character brings to the story.
The film to this point also had a fair share of controversies when J.K. Rowling supported the casting of Johnny Depp who was last year accused of sexual assault. Along with that in current reports director of David Yates confirmed that J.K. Rowling asked not to portray the character of Albus Dumbledore as gay which has also hurt the sentiments of a vast community.
Still, Keeping all these controversies aside The Wizarding World will surely take the world by storm coming 16th November.
