Google announces undersea fiber optical cable for its cloud services

The technology giant, Google has become the biggest company for not only providing high end smartphone like Pixel 2/XL, home assistant devices but also offers  the best web web services. Google is one of the best to provide internet services, and has become very popular as a search engine platform. Yesterday, Google announced to build three new undersea fiber optical cable to expand its cloud services, which will both speed up data transfers services to certain reasons and offer alternative routes when data fails in some areas. This is not the first time that company is doing so, it has already helped built three undersea fiber-optic cables.

The PLAN

Google said, it will be going to open cloud areas in Montreal, the Netherlands, and then Los Angeles, Finland and Hong Kong in the first quarter of this year. And in 2019, company will build three subsea cables: Curie, a private cable connecting Chile to Los Angeles. A consortium cable, called Havfrue will be connecting the U.S. to Denmark and Ireland; and the Hong Kong, which will be a Guam Cable system (HK-G), a consortium cable interconnecting major subsea communication hubs in Asia.

WithCurie, Google becomes the first major non-telecom company to build a private intercontinental cable.

 

ADVANTAGES
The main aim of building these undersea fiber optical is to increase the network of Google Cloud services, which gives access to the world’s largest network, which help Google to best serve our millions of users. By this companies like PayPal, will get more benefits, in which millions of transaction of money take place, world wide.
PayPal’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Sri Shivananda said,

As a result, security, networking and infrastructure were key considerations for us when choosing a cloud provider, with Google Cloud, we have access to the world’s largest network, which helps us reach our infrastructure goals and best serve our millions of users.”

Also, Google will be building own private sub-sea cable, called Curie Cable. According to Google, with Curie, it becomes the first major non-telecom company to build a private intercontinental cable. This will improve global connectivity while providing value to company’s customers and building own cable will give Google some other benefits too.
