Android’s battery statistics have not been the most accurate at predicting the amount of power remaining and have been a major source of concern for a number of users. In an attempt to improve user experience, Google has introduced a new ‘smart battery’ feature for its Pixel range of devices which, the company claims, will be able to accurately predict the remaining battery life.
The new smart battery stats make use of machine learning and make a model of the past usage to predict the future usage, thereby giving a more accurate reading of the battery estimates. Additionally, the battery graph in the updated battery stats also showcases the predicted battery usage for the rest of the day.
Android Police reports that the new feature works on the Pixel 2 and Nexus 6P running Android 8.1 developer preview as of now, with no further information regarding a wider rollout.
However, this is a very minor change,but can a really handy one for many of the users
