Honor View 20 with 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor & punch-hole display launched

The Chinese tech giant, Huawei officially launched Honor View 20 at a launch event in Paris, with some advanced features like the punch-hole display, and a powerful 48MP camera at the back, Link Turbo technology, spectacular Kirin 980 and a lot more. To recall, Honor View 20 is the same smartphone that Huawei launched under its sub-brand in China, where it was named Honor V20.

Honor View 20 Design & Display –

The design of the new Honor View 20 gives a new refreshing look to the smartphones, with a unique design, and the material used on the Honor View 20 body is the combination of metal and glass for a premium look. The premium Honor View 20 will be available in four colors — Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, Phantom Red, and Phantom Blue.

The new Honor View 20 comes with the punch-hole display, which seems like the new trend of the upcoming device of 2019. The punch-hole is small in size, which carries the front camera, and also the punch-hole display makes the bezels on the device narrow, giving more screen-to-body-ratio, that is, nearly 91%, which is really amazing. The Honor View 20 comes with a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display, which comes with Full HD+ resolution, that is, 2310 x 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 382ppi, which is similar to the Chinese version of Honor View 20.

The all-new Honor View 20 runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box, topped up with Honor’s latest EMUI 9. The device is powered by the company’s own octa-core Kirin 980 chipset supported with Liquid Cooling technology, coupled with 8GB of RAM. Not only this, for power-packed gaming performance, the device features an improved GPU Turbo 2.0 technology, which accelerates GPU performance, especially for gaming.

The company boasts that the Honor View 20’s GPU performance is 20 times better than the other devices using the GPU with the same build. Also, Honor View 20 packs a 4,000mAh battery which can be charged using the Type-C port, also, the battery supports 4.5V/5A rapid charging. The device comes with 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

Honor View 20 Camera –

Now, coming to the camera department, the most interesting part of the Honor View 20. The new View 20 comes with a powerful 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, which is powered and enhanced by dual NPU unit of the Kirin 980 for enhanced image processing capabilities for better captures. Other than this, in the dual rear camera setup, comes the 3D ToF (Time of Flight) stereo lens, which can be used for Augmented Reality features like depth measurement, bone recognition, motion capture, 3D body shaping and 3D somatosensory games on the Honor View 20.

The rear camera setup also comes with the features like super night view mode, super slow-motion HD quality video recording at 960 fps and 4-into-1 pixel binding technology.

The front camera of the View 20 sits in the punch-hole in the display. For selfies, the device comes with a 25-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture, which also supports AI capabilities, like enhanced selfies, face-recognition and many more.

Honor View 20 Price & Availability –

The new Honor View 20 comes in two different variants and will be available for the sale from 23rd January, where the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model comes with a price tag of 549 Euros (around $624) and the Moschino co-designed variant, which comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at 649 Euros (around $738).
