Instagram activity status feature update
Instagram launched the Activity Status feature some months back, with which you can check out the status of your Instagram friends. And Instagram is updating the feature to make it easier to connect with friend, by easily checking out the status, as in the new feature a green dot will appear on the user’s profile photo indicating a user is active on the app.
Instagram previous Activity status feature shows the activity time or the last time the user was active on the Instagram app. But with the new inherit feature from the parent social media app, Facebook, it shows a green dot on the profile photo of that person. Instagram mentioned in their official blog, that the user can only see the activity status, the new green dot button, of the person who is their followers and also the people who have talked in the Direct section of the app.
The Activity Status feature is turned On by default, but you can choose, if your friends who follow you, can see you activity status or not. To do this simply, go to your profile and tap on Settings, or the 3 Dot icon on Android and the gear icon on iOS. Scroll down to find Activity Status and tap on it. There simply tap on the slider icon to turn of the Activity Status feature. Doing this, no one will be able to see, if you are online or not. But, it should be kept in mind that after turning off the feature, you won’t be able to see the activity status of your friends.
The new Activity Status feature looks similar to the previous one, now instead of Active Now written in grey color near the profile picture, now a green dot will appear. And if the user is not active on the app, you won’t see a green dot, but still, you can see the last time the user was Instagramming.
