Will ‘Nostalgia’ be as touching as its trailer?
Jon Hamm, a versatile actor, known for his work in highly acclaimed TV Series Mad Men, has been making some fantastic choices lately. Recently we saw him in Edgar Wright directed Baby Driver where he portrays a role of a bank robber. Now, he returns to the big screen this February with ‘Nostalgia’ which looks like a soul-stirring masterpiece.
The trailer for the American drama movie was released yesterday which gave the glimpse of a touching story. The story revolves around various people who are connected through love and loss; and explores our relationships with objects, artifacts, and memories that shape our lives. A movie like this cannot be judged merely by a trailer. However, you have to watch it carefully and feel the emotions connected to each dialogue. The film was showcased at the Sundance Film Festival and was applauded for its simple yet touching story.
Jon Hamm plays the titular role in the movie along with the outstanding cast which includes award-winning actors Nick Offerman, Amber Tamblyn, Patton Oswalt, Catherine Keener, Ellen Burstyn, Bruce Dern, John Ortiz, and James LeGros. The drama is directed by Mark Pellington and written by Pellington and Alex Ross Perry. Bleecker Street acquired the distribution rights for the movie slated for release on February 16th, 2018.
We know that film like this will go under the radar of many movie lovers and there is a slight chance of it doing a good business as it is not ” a Superhero or Commercial Movie” with the big release. But I would like to say we as an audience should support movies which have something different to offer and focus on feelings at much deeper level.
