The Lenovo-owned Motorola is all set launch its new budget smartphone, Moto E5 Plus in India. The smartphone will be available in India from July 10 onwards, exclusively on Amazon India. Moto E5 Plus is the latest phone in Motorola ’s popular entry-level E-series. The other phones in this series, Moto E5 and Moto E5 Play are also expected to launch very soon in the Indian market. Motorola announced their latest E-series smartphones in April this year but they were only restricted to US markets.
Moto E5 Plus Specifications :
On the specification front, Moto E5 is powered by Snapdragon 435 chipset and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. It has got 18:9, 6 inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable upto 256GB a via microSD card. It packs a massive 5000mAh battery under the hood, with support for 15W TurboPower charging that claims to offer 10 hours of usage in about half an hour of charging. The phone, however, still uses the microUSB port. Other key features of the phone are a 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, Moto Actions.
Talking about the camera, it packs a single 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.25um pixel size, f/2.0, LED, PDAF, and laser autofocus. Don’t confuse that black spot with a secondary camera, its just a sensor which is used for Laser Autofocus. On the front, the phone has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12um pixel size and a dedicated selfie flash.
On the design front, this latest E-series smartphone is built to have the look of a metal frame and glass back, but it instead uses plastics and polymers. It has a circular camera bump and a fingerprint sensor embedded in Motorola logo at the back. On the front, it has got pretty thin bezels but has a huge chin with Motorola branding on it. At 161.9 x 75.3 x 9.35mm, it’s a large phone but feels comfortable to hold. It weighs about 200g (because of the massive 5000mAh battery). So all in all it has got a very good design which feels kinda premium at a glance.
The Moto E5 Plus was launched at a price of EUR 169 which translates to roughly Rs. 13,500. With specifications placing it in the lower budget segment, it is likely that Motorola will cut down the price to about Rs. 10,000 when releasing in India.
It is a very decent smartphone which can handle day to day task quite easily and also has a very hefty battery which can last upto 1.5 days in a single charge. But even if it is released at Rs. 10,000, it will be competing with devices like Realme 1 and Redmi Note 5 which might be very hard for it to beat.
