Last year, the E-commerce giant, Flipkart launched the affordable dual camera smartphone under the branding, Billion and also two power banks with cheaper prices. Going in the same business, Flipkart owned fashion e-commerce brand Myntra launched its own wearable device on Wednesday, 20th of June. The wearable device is a fitness band named Blink Go, and it has been fabricated at Innovation Labs of Myntra-Jabong. Myntra Blink Go is priced at Rs. 4,199 and will be available from the kickstart of Myntra’s End of Reason Sale, which is a four-day sale, and going to start on Friday, 22nd June and goes on till Monday, 25th June. And according to the company, the Blink Go wearable will be available at a special price during the Reason Sale.
Jeyendran Venugopal, Chief Technology Officer, Myntra, stated, “This is an exciting moment for Myntra as we foray into the connected wearable segment with our first product ‘Blink Go’ which is a perfect blend of fashion and technology to help our customers keep track of their goals and stay fit.”
Talking about the device, the new Blink Go fitness comes with a TFT display and a designer strap, which can be chosen by the user from a variety of choices. The device has Bluetooth embedded, with which it can be connected to a smartphone to get notifications and alerts. Myntra Blink Go comes with all the standard sensors for activity tracking which includes steps tracking, distance, calories, and sleep tracking and not only this, it also features a heart rate sensor. Like any other standard fitness band, Blink Go fitness tracker also allows users to set weekly sleep goal, to create bedtime reminders, and wake targets and there is Leaderboards feature that allows users to challenge their friends on fitness tasks and goals. And Blink Go comes with Multi-Tracker support with which users can connect multiple devices to a single account for automatically detecting and switching between devices, with Blink Go own app. According to the company, with Myntra Blink Go users can monitor their fitness parameters and set personal fitness goals.
With the launch of the new fitness band, Blink Go, Myntra demonstrated its ability to design and develop wearable devices. The company also mentioned that the Blink Go was built on the Myntra Wearables Platform, which enables the creation of a wide variety of smart wearables which can instantly discover and communicate with each other. And the Myntra Wearables Platform will form the basis for all future development of such products.
