Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000 specifications revealed at SIGGRAPH

Nvidia has today revealed its new Turing architecture, which has been described as the world first ray-tracing GPU. The company has also revealed the GPU details. Ray tracing technology means that it can produce most realistic lighting effects and includes dedicated “RT Core” hardware for that purpose.

The company has described it as its biggest development after CUDA which was introduced in 2006. Nvidia has named this new GPU as Quadro RTX.

The company has told that the Quadro RTX products will be used more on the professional side rather than for gaming. The company is going to introduce the first device based on this technology by the end of this year. The flagship Quadro RTX 8000 cost around $10,000. The specifications of the device are pretty solid, and it has 48GB of DDR6 memory, 4608 CUDA cores, and 576 Tensor cores. This device as ray tracing capacity of 10 gigarays/second. This product has been introduced today at SIGGRAPH which is conference related to graphics professionals. In the coming week, at Gamescom, we expect the Nvidia will unveil next generation of GeForce GPU’s for the gaming purpose.

The GPU can also be used with multiple cards with the help of Nvidia’s NVLink interface. It also offers support for the Virtual Link which can power the VR headsets via USB-C cable. In addition to that, the company will also be launching its less powerful version RTX 6000 and RTX 5000
