PUBG Corp has announced first official E-sports tournament for PlayerUnknown’s Battle Ground. PUBG is the widely popular Battle Royale game, which has received loved from the gamer community all over the world.

The tournament will be held in Berlin, Germany from July 25-29 and total of 20 professional PUBG teams will take part in the tournament. The tournament has a total prize pool of $2 million. The tournament format will go firstly with the qualifiers, which will take place in North America, Europe, and Asia. Further details of the tournament will be disclosed later
At the end of the tournament, two teams will be selected as the world champions, which includes from first-person perspective and third person perspective. From the viewership point, the BattleGround’s in-game camera system will allow broadcasters to zoom the battle area. The tournament will also get live commentary from game experts. PUBG corp has the ability to record all the matches in high definition and which can be parsed later.
PUBG has also organized PUBG Tournament last year at Gamescom Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Invitational which had a prize pool of $350,000. That tournament attracted major E-sports teams like Cloud9, Team Liquid, Team Solomid and Luminosity Gaming
PUBG has very large viewership in China, thanks to their partnership with Tencent games. Battlegrounds received staggering viewership of more than 5 million concurrent users on PandaTV platform which is an equivalent of Twitch in China
