Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 for Windows 10 is in works, we covered the whole report in the previous Qualcomm post. Where, Qualcomm is also working in backgrounds to take a straight head with the Intel Y/U Chips after showing a demo of running Windows 10 on ARM-based Snapdragon 850, today, at the MWC 2018, Shanghai event, Qualcomm the expert of the low powered processing chips, officially launched the 400-series SoC lineup including the Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429.
According to the Qualcomm, the company is taking one more step ahead to improve CPU performance and power efficiency with the launch of Snapdragon 439 and 429 chips.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 439
Talking about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439, this chipset will be supported by an octa-core CPU (Cortex A53), 4 performance and 4 efficiency cores, clocked at 1.95Ghz and 1.45GHz respectively and with the Adreno 505 GPU, and the company boasted to deliver 20% faster graphics performance. For camera support, the Snapdragon 439 is said to support for up to 21MP single-camera setup or up to 8MP + 8MP dual-camera setup, in order to improve rendering on modern 18:9 displays with the support for Full HD+ displays, which are included in the Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 range smartphones these days.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 429
Unlike Qualcomm Snapdragon 439, the Snapdragon 429, will be supported by a Quad-Core processor majorly for the low-budget smartphones and has 4 performance cores (Cortex A53) which are clocked at 1.95GHz with the support of Adreno 504 GPU and here company boasted to deliver a 50% increment in graphics rendering. For camera department, the Snapdragon 429 is said to support up to a 16MP single-camera setup or up to 8MP+8MP dual-cameras setup and supporting up to HD+ (18:9) displays for the low-budget smartphones.
According to Qualcomm, the new 400 series chipsets are able to increase the CPU performance by 25 percent as compared to the previous generation chipset. And not only this the new chipset by Qualcomm will feature the popular X6 LTE modem with uploading and downloading speeds up to 75 Mbps and 150 Mbps, which offers faster downloading speeds than previous 400 series chipsets. There is a support for on-device AI computation, which unlocks the feature like real-time bokeh mode, with which even low-budget can take click portrait mode shots with the single camera module, also 3A algorithms, post-processing and a lot more will be supported by the devices powered by new Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 429.
The smartphones with the new gen of 400 series Qualcomm chipsets are expected to hit the market in the Q3 this year, and the smartphone supported by the new chipset will be the low-budget mainly.
