The Korean giant, Samsung Electronics has introduced next-generation storage format for smartphones. The company has initiated production for first eUFS 512 gigabytes of internal storage.
With such larger internal memory for the phones, will eliminate the need for MicroSD card for the mobile devices.
About storage format:
The new storage format eUFS stands for (embedded Universal Flash Storage) and is a combination of 64-layer 512-gigabit V-NAND chips. The new storage features incredible read and writes speed of 860 MB / s and 255 MB / s respectively. For other relevant operations, eUFS has 42,000 IOPS for reading and 40,000 IOPS for writing which very faster than conventional micro-SD card.
