Tinder launches Tinder U for college students

The Tinder announced today the launch of a derived platform, the Tinder U app, developed especially for college. The idea is to facilitate the meeting of students in age group and common interests.

To use, you must have a university e-mail (extension “.edu”) from a public educational institution with at least 4 years of proven activity. To activate the application, just be on campus and run it, confirming your identity via email. For now, the service will be distributed only for iOS devices in the United States.

Highlights include the ability to add users from nearby universities and the use of geolocation on campuses to streamline the combination for anyone looking for a fellow student or company for coffee – and maybe a flirtation.

This would be a strategy for Tinder to extend use to the age of 18. Even with the platform being free, the idea is that most students become a subscriber or spend on internal purchases along or after their courses. It is also a way of providing a platform for young people who do not want to relate to their elders.
