The NDP group released its full report about the sales of games in 2017 in the United States. According to the report, we have top 10 selling games of the year 2017 across all platforms.
In the Games’ sales, Call Of Duty World War II was the best selling game of 2017 so far. NBA2k18, Destiny 2, Madden NFL 18 and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild were in top five(excluding pc sales).
As Of December 2017 alone, Call Of Duty WWII was the best selling game of the month, followed by Star Wars: Battlefront II, award-winning Super Mario Odyssey, NBA 2K18 and the Maria Kart 8. PUBG was at No. 7 in terms of sales during the December.
For hardware, PS4 sold most units in the 2017 and Nintendo Switch sold the most in Demeber 2017. In the full year, total spend on hardware jumped by an impressive 28 percent, to $4.7 billion.
According to Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and The NPD Group’s data US video game industry generated $36 billion dollar revenue in 2017, 18 percent more as compared to 2016. The figures are the combination of hardware revenue including peripherals and software revenue from physical and digital sales of the game.
