Netflix’s When We First Met has a Groundhog Day Vibe!!
Adam Devine and Alexandra Daddario starrer ‘When We First Met’ trailer got released, and it had an uncanny resemblance to classic Groundhog Day. The DUFF director Ari Sandel is at the helm of the movie and John Whittington (The LEGO Batman Movie) has written the story.
The movie explores the story of Noah (Adam Devine) who first met Avery (Alexandra Daddario) during a college party, and they went on spending the perfect first night. However, soon he finds himself getting friend zoned by the girl with whom he fell in love. After almost three years as he remembers that night and goes to the same photo booth to wish things to be different. After that wish, he gets a second chance as he travels back in time to do things over again and make her fell in love with him.
There are funny elements thrown in between the trailer, but only Adam Devine’s presence makes it feel little refreshing. The story is pretty basic one, and it seems like after watching the trailer itself we know the whole story.
However, in case of movies like these much depends on the execution of the story. Ari Sandel in the past has delivered heart touching comedies like Duff which gave the same first impression with the mediocre quality of the trailer.
The movie will release a week before Valentine’s Day and will try to target lovebirds around the world. So, if you are skeptical about the film whether to spend your precious time on it or not, no worries we got you covered. We will soon review this title and make sure you spend your valuable time wisely.
